The sponsorship club “Basketballfreunde S04 e.V. “

The main concern of the sponsorship club is the support of the youth and children teams of the Basketball section of FC Schalke 04 – either in idealistic, financial and any other material demand .

Our aim is the demand of talents and youth teams and the setting up of chances for all kids to find pleasure and fun in this sport.

Our motto is: Basketball instead of Playstation !

FC Schalke 04 is not only home of soccer !

The Basketball section  has developed out of several  Gelsenkirchen Basketball clubs and belongs to FC Schalke 04 since 1974 !

The first senior team played a very good season 2006/07 in the second Bundesleague( Northern section )  and qualified for the new invented Pro A Division. All Pro A teams have to prove their sporty and mainly economic efficiency in a licensing procedure. For that reason it’s much more valuable being member of this league.

The work with the S 04’s youth teams is based on very engaged trainers and coaches.

The teams from U 12 to U 18 take part in all regional leagues.
